Emergency Planning

The RM of Hanover Emergency Plan adopted its first emergency plan in 1989. The plan includes situations such as winter storm hazards, explosive hazards, severe weather and tornadoes, and hazardous products and spills. A hazard analysis for the municipality as well as action guidelines for the Emergency Operations Team are also part of the emergency plan.

Emergency Operations Centre

The RM of Hanover's Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) is a volunteer-based team led by Emergency Operations Coordinator Paul Wiebe, RM of Hanover Fire Chief. During emergencies, the EOC may be activated to coordinate resources, support emergency response efforts, and provide assistance to residents in accordance with the RM of Hanover's Emergency Plan.

The Emergency Operations Centre Team meets approximately four times each year to review emergency procedures, update plans, and prepare for potential emergency situations affecting the municipality.

Volunteer opportunities with the Emergency Operations Centre Team are listed at the bottom of this page. Residents interested in contributing to emergency preparedness and community resilience are encouraged to get involved.
